Broncos Season Gets Tougher Moving Forward

The Denver Broncos road to the postseason will be tough as they attempt to stay undefeated. As of now, they are the favorites for their remaining 10 regular season games.

The Broncos had a scare in Dallas in week 5, but pulled out a tough hard fought 51-48 win. However, if you look into their season thus far you might be surprised to find out it has not been all that impressive by the numbers.

All six of Denver’s wins have been against teams with losing record or at .500. Their opponents when they played them were a combined 4-11 SU and now their first six opponents have combined records of 11-25.

Three of the six teams however, are 3-3 at this time and the combined losses of 25 their opponents have, includes the 12 just between the Jaguar and Giants.

However, going forward the road gets a bit bumper with a few potholes along the way. In week 7, the Broncos have to play on the road against Indianapolis where Peyton Manning will be returning for his first game since leaving the Colts.

Denver opened on Bovada as a 4.5-point favorite, while on other sites like betonline and topbet the line was high as 6. However, as of late Tuesday lines on sites such as sportsbooks.com had reached as high as 6.5, following the loss by Indianapolis against San Diego.

Following the Indy game the Broncos face Washington, the Chargers and then three games that will be very daunting. Denver plays Kansas City at home November 17; New England on the road November 24; and Kansas City a second time on the road December 1.

If Denver continues winning, they will be favored in each game. However, if they lose to Kansas City at home, the Chiefs could be favored on their home field two weeks later.

In futures, Denver is a 3.5-point favorite on the road against New England in Week 12. Denver is also expected to lay a number albeit short in their road game at Kansas City.

Many odds maker have said that playing in Kansas City when the Chiefs are good is as hard a field to play on as there is. Because of that, Denver will lay only 2 to 3 points.

Denver remains at the top of the short list for the Super Bowl with 2-1 odds at the moment.
