Falcons Laying Points on the Road vs. Tampa Bay

Some might think Sunday’s NFL matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers is a meaningless game.

However,  even though both teams have little to play for the rest of the season, bettors still enjoy selecting games that their favorite team is playing in that are close matchups.

There are also parlays that can be used for this game. As well as taking live bets, such as the half time winner or the points.

Atlanta has lost three consecutive games, with their last victory a home game against Tampa Bay. Mike Smith the team’s head coach has vowed that the team’s starters will continue playing and the team will work hard to win each game.

The Falcons started the season with hopes of reaching the Super Bowl. However, they are a good example of how injuries can ruin any team good or bad.

Tampa Bay was victorious for the first time last week against Miami 22-19. The Buccaneers also battled the tough Seattle Seahawks into overtime before succumbing 27-24. Both of Tampa Bay’s two top running backs will not play due to injuries, which will force Mike Glennon, the team’s rookie quarterback to take on even more of the load for the offense.

The current line has Atlanta as the favorite by 1.5 points with the point total sitting on 43.5. The line at Bovada opened as a pick ‘em and has since been bet up to Atlanta as the favorite on sites like sportsbook.com, topbet and betonline. However, check each individual site as the spread ranges from Tampa -1 to Atlanta -1.

The Falcons are 3-1 SU in the past four head-to-head meeting with the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay is 11-28-1 ATS over its past 30 games at home. The Buccaneers are also 5-14-1 ATS over their past 20 games as an underdog at home, but covered at home on Monday as a ‘dog against Miami.

Matt Ryan, the Falcons starting quarterback has had three straight subpar games.

However, his last strong game came at the expense of Tampa Bay in Atlanta when he had three touchdown passes and no interceptions.

The ground attack for Atlanta is anemic and the worst in the league. Julio Jones the teams talented wide receiver is out for the season and this week both Tony Gonzalez and Harry Douglas two of Ryan’s favorite targets did not practice. Defensively, Atlanta is amongst the worst against both the pass and run.

Glennon is improving as the Tampa Bay quarterback. Last week was his first interception in four games. Mike James and Doug Martin are out with injuries decimating the Tampa Bay running game.

Tampa Bay is coming off a win, while Atlanta has lost three in a row.

I like Atlanta in this on the road.
