College football’s week 2 is here and three good matchups are topping the schedule with three strong teams Michigan State, USC and Michigan drawing action as underdogs.
Action is coming in early and heavy in week 2 on Bovada and sportsbook.com. Some teams have injuries to big players, which have moved the lines from what they opened at on Sunday.
The BYU Cougars, an underdog have seen a strong move in their direction for their primetime matchup down in Texas on Saturday. David Ash the Texas quarterback has had a recurrence of his symptoms of a concussion and could miss the game and the betting market has reacted.
Texas opened at -4.5 on topbet, but it was bet down to -3.5 and on many places including betonline it is sitting at -3.
Last season BYU run up and down the field on the Longhorns rushing for 550 yards and won 40-21. That could happen again on Saturday with or without Ash in the lineup.
The USC Trojans travel to Stanford to take on the Cardinal in an early season Pac-12 showdown.
Against Fresno State, the Trojans played well winning by 39 points.
Last season USC upset Stanford 20-17. However, the Trojans have struggled against Stanford losing four of the past five games head to head with the Cardinal and are 2-5 against the spread in their last 7 versus Stanford.
The line opened with Stanford at -5, but is down to -3.5.
The Trojans ran over 100 plays on offense last week with 700 total yards, but Stanford is not Fresno State and things will come much harder for USC this week.
The Michigan State Spartans go on the road to face the Oregon Ducks in a matchup of two teams in the top 10.
Both had blowout wins to open the season outscoring their opponents by a combined 107-20.
Most of the money thus far on his game is on the Ducks. The line opened with Oregon at -10.5 and has already ballooned to 13. The Ducks are notorious for been extremely tough to beat at home, especially early in the season.
Another big game has the Michigan Wolverines visiting the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Michigan easily defeated Appalachian State 52-14 last week. The Irish defeated Rice 48-17.
This is an annual rivalry and with the exception of last season, the games are four points or less each year.
The current line has Notre Dame at -5, but money is coming in on Michigan. However, often times the home team, in this case Notre Dame, will have a flurry of action prior to the kickoff.
Three games, six great teams in just the second week of action what more can a football fan ask for.
