Seatte Seahawks Top Super Bowl Futures after Week 15

Heading to the next to last week of the NFL regular season, the Seattle Seahawks are the lone favorites to win the Super Bowl. The Seahawks moved ahead the of Denver Broncos, the team it shared the lead with the past couple of weeks.

Seattle shut out the New York Giants last weekend 23-0 on the road at East Rutherford, New Jersey, which is the exact site that Super Bowl 48 will be played in February. On Tuesday, the Seahawks were announced with odds of 3 to 2 to lift the Vince Lombardi trophy, which were shortened for last week’s 2 to 1 odds.

Seattle has a record of 12-2, which is tops in the league and need just on win to clinch the home field advantage for the entire NFC playoffs. At home, the Seahawks are close to unbeatable as they have not been defeated in two years. Seattle’s odds to win the NFC conference are currently 5 to 8.

Denver however saw the odds for its Super Bowl chances lengthen to 5 to 2 from 9 to 5. Denver was shown as being vulnerable on their home field by San Diego last Thursday. Their grip on grabbing home field advantage and the AFC West has loosened.

In addition, the win by Baltimore on Monday against the Detroit Lions has had its effect on odds in both the NFC and AFC.

The Ravens moved up to 25 to 1 from 50- to 1 and the Steelers, Chargers and Bengals, all of which are fighting for a place in the playoffs, saw their odds lengthened from the previous week.

Detroit dropped to third in the NFC North. The Lions odds lengthened to 75 to 1 from 40 to 1. Chicago and Green Bay are now one and two respectively in the division and both saw their odds shortened.

New Orleans has a hard time winning away from home even when the stadium is a dome like in St. Louis. This week the Saints play in Carolina and the two teams are tied in the NFC South in first place.

Other teams that saw their odds lengthened on Bovada and topbet include New England, Dallas and Philadelphia. However, Carolina has shortened its odds on betonline and sportsbook.com thanks to defeating the New York Jets.

The Kansas City Chiefs also moved to 20 to 1 from 30 to 1 thanks to outscoring Oakland 56-31. The Arizona Cardinals saw their odds lengthened even when they won. The reason is that it looks as if the Cardinals will not make the postseason.

The NFC is now a -2.5 favorite over the AFC in the Super Bowl, with the point total sitting on 49.5
