Sportsbook betting for Saturday focuses on MLB Baseball

We’ve hit another weekend folks, and with it comes a brand new set of betting options at the best sports betting sites reviewed here. For Saturday’s top betting action, Major League Baseball once again takes top billing, however we remind you to also take a quick gander at the betting options available for tonight’s UFC 133 bouts, as no doubt the many match-ups slated for today and tonight’s fights should make for at least a couple of exciting wagers to take out today. Check out all the action for these fights and more at the Bodog Sportsbook, which features plenty of options for straight up wagering as well as proposition bets to make your sportsbook betting for Saturday just that much more exciting. UFC 133 aside however, we’re glued in to the top match-ups in today’s Major League Baseball competition, featuring 15 games across the American and National Leagues, with plenty of solid opportunities available for making some added coin by taking advantage of favorable match-ups and/or parlaying some of the most secure wagers together.

Looking over the betting lines for games being played in the National League today, the first standout game comes as the Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants reach Game 3 of their 4-game set from AT&T park. Philadelphia has dominated the Giants mainly on pitching, however last night the bats came alive in a 9-2 tear as Jonathan Sanchez received an unwelcoming return from the disabled list, and amidst a brawl-filled evening, the Phillies kept the discouraged Giants off their composure all evening to grab their 8th straight win while sending San Francisco to its 7th loss in 8 games. Cole Hamels (12-6, 2.62 ERA) faces Matt Cain (9-7, 3.10 ERA) today, and will be a good bet to break though after losing his last 3 starts to the Giants, behind a confident Phillies batting order. Next up for top bets at Bodog Sportsbook today, turn towards the battle for 1st place in the AL East, as the Boston Red Sox once again host the New York Yankees in the most exciting series of the weekend. The Yankees look to continue their 8-game winning streak after defeating the Red Sox last night for the first time in 7 attempts. C.C. Sabathia is on the mound, and we can almost leave it at that in terms of which way this game will go. Though he’s lost all 3 previous starts against the Red Sox this season, we think he’s up to the task to secure a win against Jon Lackey, however the over wager on 9 total runs (-130) looks threatened as Sabathia holds a 6.16 ERA against the Red Sox this year, and Jon Lackey has a propensity for giving up a lot of runs (while getting lots of support however). A key set of marks here tonight though: Sabathia is 6-0 with a 1.37 ERA in 7 daytime starts this season, and 9-1 with a 1.67 ERA since his last outing against Boston on June 9th.

Check out a flock of other great options for betting on sports for MLB Baseball today, including another favorable match-up between the San Diego Padres and Pittsburgh Pirates (San Diego was an underdog last night on the road, but won 15-5 against the slumping Bucs), with Cory Luebke facing Paul Maholm in what should be a great pitching match-up. Another hot pitcher to follow is Detroit’s Justin Verlander, who faces Danny Duffy and the Kansas City Royals in a good option for taking the Tigers with the runline (-1.5 runs at -125). Meanwhile, C.J. Wilson of the Texas Rangers simply has to have a bounce back performance tonight against Fausto Carmona and the Cleveland Indians, as he’s gone only 7 2/3 innings combined in his last two starts while giving up 10 runs and losing both games. Lastly, the Colorado Rockies should prevail at home against the Washington Nationals with Jhoulys Chacin on the mound, as he tries to recover from a ghastly 0-4 drought with a 4.50 ERA in his last 8 starts. In opposition, Livan Hernandez has pitched well against the Rockies with a 2.24 ERA over 8 starts, but has had no support as he’s gone 1-3 over that stretch with 4 no decisions.  Make sure to look over all the betting lines for the MLB action slated for Saturday, as weekend baseball is always exciting to behold and getting to watch a few games on your day off (hopefully) should make for a great way to spend a relaxing Saturday afternoon.
