College Basketball tips off for another great day of …

It’s that time once again to get into the biggest and most exciting day of the week for sports fans, and with that, we take another venture to one of the best online sports betting sites reviewed here, this time going to the Bodog Sportsbook (read the review of Bodog Sportsbook) for the best wagers on the day. Always keen to peruse over the 140+ games slated for betting on sports, we’ll keep a stronger focus on the NCAA Basketball games going on today, as the NBA coasts into the All-Star game tomorrow, and also throw in some additional wagers for the 9 games available for NHL Hockey, with plenty of strong match-ups worthy of a placement our on betting tickets at Bodog this afternoon. Though there are surprisingly few match-ups between Top 25 competition today, there’s more than enough excitement to be had this weekend as many teams sit on the bubble for the NCAA tournament, and no doubt those within the Top 25 have huge targets on their backs as teams sitting just outside the rankings will be gunning to pick up quality wins this weekend, and for the remainder of the season leading up to March Madness.

Starting off with betting on sports for the NCAA today, we’ll look at the key match-ups featuring Top 25 teams up against upset-minded squads with tournament hopes on the line. First up, #2 Texas heads into a tough match-up with Nebraska, who while in trouble for any shot at a conference title, look for their 18th win on the year and a big quality win at home against a young, but talented Longhorns team. These games are always scary for ranked opponents coming into a hostile environment with a team with everything to gain and nothing to lose, and Nebraska always seems ready to play top teams very tough. With Nebraska getting a 7 point underdog on the spread at home, it could be a great opportunity to play it a little safe on a potential upset bid for the Cornhuskers today. In another key conference match-up turn to #13 Arizona hosting the high-scoring Washington Huskies, who could move within one game of the Pac-10 lead with a win on the road today. Though this may be a tough task heading on the road trying to steal a win against one of the most improved teams this year, and Washington gets a tight +3 points on the spread for this game, I’m counting on Isaiah Thomas to once again make trouble for the Wildcat defense, and build confidence for a run at the Pac-10 title. Look for a tight game, a good possibility of a breakout of the 157 total points posted, and a great Pac-10 showdown between two of the best teams in the conference.

Moving on to further NCAA bets, #17 Texas A&M faces a challenge heading to Stillwater, OK to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys, a team that is trying to build back their status once held under legendary coach Eddie Sutton. Looking to avoid a series sweep today, Marshall Moses, Markel Brown and Keiton Page will need to be on their best games at home to pick up a win, even though they are favored by 2 points coming into the match-up today. Averaging 73.6 points at home, and against an Aggies team averaging 70.4 for the season, a good look for this game is the 126 point over/under which seems easily tested with both teams need a win today. Look for further great match-ups worth a look for online sports betting at Bodog as #23 St. Mary’s hosts #24 Utah State, West Virginia plays host to #7 Notre Dame looking to nab another upset win at home, and St. Johns also tries to play spoiler at home against #4 Pittsburgh. With plenty of other great contests taking place in NCAA basketball throughout the day, no matter what time you choose to log in at Bodog Sportsbook and take out your picks, you can count on a bevy of options to add to the excitement of College Hoops as we quickly wind down towards the end of the regular season.

Lastly for sports bets on the day, we turn to the NHL for top Hockey wagers as this season quickly winds down as well. It’s hard to believe that there are only just over 20 games per team left in the season, and this time of the year brings out the best trends and most precedence between teams for judging which picks to make at Bodog Sportsbook any day of the week. Taking the prime match-up of the day between the Dallas Stars and the Vancouver Canucks, where the home team ‘Nucks come in as a +200 favorite on the Moneyline. After losing six straight on the road, the change for the Stars to break that trend seems low, especially as Vancouver has beaten Dallas in all competition this year, and could sweep the series with a win in front of a home crowd today. Having only lost once at home in 15 games, Vancouver looks to get back into a steady winning trend against a team it has outscored 15-3 this year, and we’ll take the home team at +140 to cover the 1 1/2 goal differential. In another game we like for the Canadian line, San Jose has home ice against a slumping Colorado Avalanche, losers of 10 straight. Meeting up with a surging Sharks team is not what the doctor ordered for the Avs, and the 1 1/2 goals for San Jose at +120 on the betting ticket at Bodog looks likely against Peter Budaj, a goalie that is averaging giving up 3 goals (and has not yet won) against the Sharks this year. Further good looks include the New Jersey Devils trying to pick up a road win against the Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim clashing with St. Louis and Phoenix and Nashville facing off with a good shot at a low scoring affair as they fight for home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs, and have built strong records on outstanding goaltending. Check out all these great match-ups and more today at one of the best sports betting sites reviewed right here, at Bodog Sportsbook!
