Orange Bowl, NHL, NBA and NCAA Hoops round out a fine …

As the week winds on, the realization that the NCAA Football season is only two days away comes as a bit of blow to any true football fan. While it’s been a great 2009 campaign, and no doubt we’ve had a great fill of online sports betting action centered around College Football, it’s sad to watch it go, especially in conjunction with the end of the NFL football season. However, one can easily take comfort in the fact that NCAA and NBA hoops remain a strong presence in any top sportsbook, and the NHL is flying faster than ever, with great contests each and every night. For this night in particular, and with 10 games in store for betting on sports, the NHL gets my first round of wagers, taking place at one of the top sportsbooks reviewed here, sportsbook (<a href=””>read the review of</a>). One of my all-time favorites, starting with their great customer service, I count on sportsbook each and every week to deliver me quick and easy sportsbook betting options, prompt payments when requested, and a great site for playing everything from cards to horses to sports. If you haven’t yet ventured to the sportsbook at, now is just as good a day as any!

For the NHL, I like my Vancouver Canucks at home against the Columbus Blue Jackets, as the anchor leg in my opening parlay wager of the day. Martin Brodeur has been hot lately for the New Jersey Devils, and while at home against the Dallas Stars, I’ll take the wily veteran for another win, and hopefully another notch in the win column as part of the three team parlay. Mikka Kiprusoff has been great for the Calgary Flames against the Nashville Predators, and on the road, I like the Flames in a win. Alex Ovechkin gets the big Captain badge for tonight’s game, as his Washington Capitals host the Montreal Canadiens. If the Caps can hold the NHL-leading power play of the Habs at bay, this should be an easy one for Washington at home today. Rounding out my wagers for the NHL today, I like the Ottawa Senators at home against the Bruins, and hopefully can pull off an underdog win at the sportsbook.

Last but not least for today’s betting on sports, the FedEx Orange Bowl gets underway later this evening, as #9 Georgia Tech looks to hold the torch for the ACC, against #10 Iowa. As my College Bowl pool has been smooshed on the backs of many losses over the past two days, I’ll go against my original picks from here on out, and in this case take Iowa to sneak a win out. One thing is a big plus for Iowa; they’ll have their quarterback Ricky Stanzi in the mix, which should make this a very close game indeed. Make sure to place your bets online for all the great action today, try out sportsbook for some tried and true sports betting, and we hope to see you around here again soon.
