Monday shifts College Football action to Fiesta Bowl …

It’s the first Monday in a very long while where there hasn’t been a Monday Night Football game in the NFL to lead the sports betting options, however fear not football fans! Tonight’s match-up in the Fiesta Bowl between two solid Top 10 football teams should be a great contest between two potent squads looking to prove themselves worthy on the national stage, which is something that very rarely Monday Night Football ever amounted to this season. Tonight, #4 Stanford takes on #13 Virginia Tech, with both teams coming off a long break, but having very successful seasons heading into tonight’s competition. Perhaps one of the most exciting quarterback showdowns of the Bowl Season this year, Stanford’s Andrew Luck, runner-up for the Heisman Trophy, will get set to throw down against Tyrod Taylor, the best QB out of the ACC this season. With both teams having played solid defensively, and able to pour on offense at will, sports fans can expect an exciting game, in what could be the last for Andrew Luck as he mulls options for a #1 pick in next year’s NFL draft. I for one have taken my pick for this game previously, traveling to one of our best online sportsbooks reviewed, at the Players Only sportsbook (read the review of While Virginia Tech comes in winners of 10 straight after two tough losses to start the year, Stanford is scary good on offense, and on the flip side has shut down every opponent this year with stellar defense, including a good effort against undefeated #2 Oregon. Betting on Andrew Luck to be the man of the hour tonight, Stanford gets the first nod to victory with wagers at Players Only Sportsbook.

While the Fiesta Bowl will definitely be the hottest action for betting on sports today, count on the small handful of games taking place in the NHL and NBA to also provide a good chance to cash in on some well-placed wagers. With five games in NHL Hockey filling the top sportsbooks, check out the great showdown between San Jose and Vancouver, with my money on the surging Canucks who are quickly climbing to the top of the NHL standings after an amazing December of play. However, a word of caution tonight, as starting goaltender Roberto Luongo won’t be in net for the ‘Nucks, and Vancouver has not won at San Jose in almost 4 years’ time. However, with the way the Canucks have been lighting up scoreboards on the road, it seems a fitting time for Vancouver to reset their road record at San Jose, and nab a win tonight. Either way, expect a tight game, and likely plenty of scoring as both teams offenses’ have been playing very well lately and can seemingly score at will. In the other worthy game for watching and wagering on tonight, check into the Chicago vs. Los Angeles match-up at Staples Center, with Jonathan Quick looking for another solid home stand against the former Stanley Cup champions.

Switching over to the NBA where six games take place tonight, key bets are on Miami to nab another road win as they visit the lowly Charlotte Bobcats, Orlando looking for their 7th straight on good play from their new team members Hedo Turkoglu, Jason Richardson and Gilbert Arenas, as well as Denver looking for its fourth straight win as they host Houston. With sportsbook betting excitement all around, head down to the Betonline Sportsbook for all the best wagering on each and every game available, from basketball to football to hockey action coming every day. With even more College Bowl games in store in the week ahead, including the College Football National Championship next Monday, and with a constant flow of NCAA Hoops, NHL and NBA action, it’s a great time to be a sports fan, and great to be wagering at the best online sportsbooks found anywhere. Until tomorrow, have a good one, and as always happy sportsbook betting!
