NFL Playoff Sunday sets up great sportsbook betting …

As we get set to say goodbye to the College Football season with the National Championship game tomorrow, the action ramps up early today starting with great NFL Playoff football, NCAA and NBA games for basketball fans, and NHL Hockey all though the day. It’s one of the better days for online sports betting this week, and after Wild Card Saturday delivered a shocking upset (still in shock the Hawks beat New Orleans, wow), and set the tone for the next round with Green Bay advancing as well, we’ll prepare for the next two cuts today with two great games on tap. To get things started right we’re heading to Diamond Sportsbook (read the review of Diamond Sportsbook) for the sports betting action this morning, being as it is one of the best sportsbooks we’ve found, and as such gets a nod of mention on our website. Offering every game available around the globe for sportsbook betting, as well as tons of options for side games in their casino and poker rooms, Diamond Sportsbook has what sports fans want, and gets solid marks after a number of years of consistent play.

For the opening wager on the NFL Playoffs today, take a look at the Baltimore vs. Kansas City game in an interesting match-up at Arrowhead Stadium, which is always one of the toughest places to play in league. It’s a big, veteran team in the Ravens, versus the quicker, more explosive Chiefs. Of concern in this match-up is the presence of the teams coming in. KC comes off a hammering at home by the Oakland Raiders, showing that they most certainly can be beat at home if the running game is clogged up. Meanwhile, Joe Flacco has Baltimore running like a well-oiled machine, and a defense that is starting to look like the ones of old. Will Matt Cassel and Jamaal Charles become heroes and deliver the Chiefs fans their first playoff victory since 1994? Or will Flacco, Rays’ Rice and Lewis and the veteran birds shutdown the house and walk on to Pittsburgh? Expect a slow-starting game as both teams play tight defense, but a second quarter featuring a few break away plays to be difference makers. There’s simply too many weapons in this match-up not to make for some excitement here and there. Bottom line for our take on the game: Baltimore 24, Kansas City 14.

Heading to the second match-up of the NFL Playoff schedule, the Philadelphia Eagles host the Green Bay Packers, coming in off a huge win at home over the Chicago Bears to nab the Wild Card. It’s a great head-to-head QB match-up, with two very mobile quarterbacks in Aaron Rodgers for Green Bay, and Michael Vick for Philly. While Vick has the advantage in the feet, Rodgers remains the better passing quarterback in this match-up, and with the way Green Bay’s defense has stepped up in light of mounting injuries, the running room will likely be tight for LeSean McCoy and Vick in the backfield. Though the Eagles have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL, their defense is very questionable, and if Rodgers is able to capitalize in the air, Green Bay looks like a great pick to grab a win on the road. With the difference makers at the QB position in this game, expect plenty of exciting action, and a close finish either way. Aaron Rodgers is my fantasy QB this year, and as this match-up is just about too tough to call outright, I’ll lean Green Bay 24, Philadelphia 21 for the second playoff pick at Diamond sportsbook.

One lone game for the College Football bowl series takes place on Sunday, and although not entirely interesting given the fact that one of the two teams comes in 7-6 (Boston College), it’s worth taking a pick on Colin Kaepernick, the Nevada Wolfpack QB who led his team to upset victory over Boise State to close the year. In today’s Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, Vai Taua and Kaepernick make a tough duo to handle in the ground game, averaging over 200 combined yards per game, and even though Boston College ranks 19th in the nation in points allowed, we’re looking for the Nevada offense to be too much for the Golden Eagles, and will take them with the points at Diamond Sportsbook today. Continuing with College sports action with a few great games in NCAA basketball, a classic ACC battle between #1 Duke and Maryland gets underway along with the game of the day between #2 Ohio State looking to remain unbeaten facing #22 Minnesota. While Minnesota has shown it has talent (Trevor Mbakwe comes to mind), on home court OSU will be too much to deal with. OSU for a straight up win adds a pretty secure anchor to a parlay wager for online sports betting on NCAA hoops. Find a few more solid options for betting on sports as #3 Kansas faces a road challenge at Michigan, and undefeated #25 Cincinnati visits #7 Villanova for a Top 25 cat fight you won’t want to miss out on. ‘Nova remains in a different class with tougher opponents when compared with Cincy, and while the Wildcats should get the win, expect a fast, physical game with plenty of offense. With all this great action, you’ll have a great time wagering at Diamond Sportsbook today, and hopefully come out a winner with a chunk of fresh change in your sportsbook account. Enjoy a great Sunday, and good luck!
