Closing out another week of sportsbook bets with focus on …

As the NHL Hockey season sits on hiatus for a few more days, and with little action occurring in European Soccer Leagues as well as NCAA Basketball, luckily enough for sports fans there is a full plate of action available for betting on sports as 12 NBA Basketball games give just enough options to squeeze in a wager or two before we settle into another well-deserved weekend. As with any other day, we’ll be rotating through the top online sports betting sites reviewed here, and the wheel of destiny today lands on another staple sportsbook, at Players Only (read the review of Though taking a bit more effort to navigate through, due to a bevy of options thrown at the doorstep as soon as you arrive, once acclimated to this top sportsbook, you’ll be betting in no time at one of the sharpest looking websites we’ve reviewed over the past 5 years. When it comes to depositing money, and more importantly getting paid out, Players Only is one of the fastest and best in the business, something that is truly comforting when considering how many fraudulent, or just plain bad sportsbook there are on the web these days. Thus, for today’s sportsbook picks, join me at this long-standing and trusted destination for a round of great sportsbook betting on NBA basketball, and perhaps even some wagers for tomorrow’s full plate of 144 NCAA games.

For the featured NBA games of the day, we actually have a number of solid match-ups for placing on your sports betting ticket, and for starters, we’ll turn to last night’s clutch team, the New York Knicks, who scored us a big win with a home victory over the Miami Heat to end a losing streak of 7 games dating back to 2008. Heading down to Atlanta for tonight’s game however may turn out to be an even tougher match-up for the Knicks, especially as New York has struggled on the road against teams above the .500 mark. Add in the fact that Atlanta will be looking for retribution after their crushing 100-59 home loss to New Orleans on January 21st, and this doesn’t bode well for New York getting back-to-back wins. With Al Horford back in the lineup, and with Joe Johnson playing exceptionally well whenever the Knicks visit, the first pick of the day takes Atlanta as the favorite to win, but we’ll look for a close affair decent enough for the Knicks to cover the 6.5 points given on the line. With New York stepping up defensively lately, and with Atlanta holding opponents to just 92.5 points at home this year, the Over/Under at 206 looks also to be worthy of a shot on the under wager as well.

To the next key match-up of the day, check out the Chicago Bulls hosting the Orlando Magic, with the game being just about dead even across the spread and money lines. Since Players Only is only covering the over/under for the game at 187.5 points (which is appealing, especially considering that Orlando put up 107 points in their December meeting here), we’ll have to team up with another top sportsbook for the spread bet, and we’ll go with two separate wagers on this contest to make it interesting. As the Bulls may be a bit fatigued coming off 13 games in 21 days, and Derrick Rose has been diagnosed with stomach ulcers which may force him to play at less than 100%, We’ll look for an Orlando win -1 point at the Oddsmaker sportsbook (read the review of, and go with the over wager on total points as Orlando looks for its third straight road win while scoring an average of over 110 points in those wins (though keep in mind that’s to Indiana, Houston and Detroit respectively). For the third pick in the top games of the day we’ll move west to Phoenix as the Suns host the Boston Celtics who look to regain their road stature and build on an 88-78 win last night at Portland. Once again the line looks attractive for Boston, which easily out sizes Phoenix, and has too much talent to cover at each position. Boston remains a good pick on the road right now, as they’ve played somewhat poorly (losing 4 of 7), but are finding more confidence as they look for their 5th win in their last 6 games. With the 3.5 point favorites at -105 today, Boston gets the pick to cover as Phoenix struggles once again to finish strong in the 4th quarter.

With a few other lopsided picks available for NBA Basketball bets at the Players Only sportsbook today, look for a favorable take on the over wager at 200 with the Los Angeles Lakers hosting the Sacramento Kings, who will try for a better performance than their last trip to Staples Center which concluded with a 113-80 loss. Fully expect the Lakers to win outright, however look for the Kings to put up enough to push the 200 point total for the game here. Look for Philadelphia at home over Memphis by the 3.5 points they’re given (as OJ Mayo sits, and Memphis is pretty poor on the road anyways), as well as Charlotte to be a good pick as the underdog as they look for their 4th straight road win at Golden State under Paul Silas. We simply can’t resist the +160 given to Charlotte, especially as the Warriors are losers of 3 straight at home and are headed in the opposite direction from the improving Bobcats. Looking ahead to more action to come tomorrow, get ready for exciting NCAA Basketball action, as well as some interesting matches in the English FA Cup, and if you haven’t already done your betting for Super Bowl XLV between the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers, take a look over the betting lines for the biggest game of the season which will no doubt be a great clash between two storied franchises. Until tomorrow, happy Friday, good luck in your sportsbook betting today at Players Only, Oddsmaker, or any of the best online sportsbooks reviewed here, and hopefully we’ll catch up with you again for Saturday’s top sports betting picks.
