Friday sports betting in the sportsbook

It’s always a treat when you get a chance to check out two top teams go head to head in any league. For major league baseball, a three or four game series between two good teams is almost like getting to catch a playoff series well before the actual playoffs come around. Case in point, this weekend has the Detroit Tigers coming into New York to face the Yankees in what should be a great series with great pitching match-ups. A.J. Burnett gets the nod tonight, and I certainly like his chances in this one facing Luke French, who has been struggling a little as of late. On the other side of the league, my first wager at the online sportsbook at (<a href=””>read the review of Superbook</a>) will take the Houston Astros against the Los Angeles Dodgers. With Roy Oswalt and Chad Billingsley in action, I like the under wager on total points in this one, and can’t wait to check out the game live tonight as I’ll be traveling to Chavez Ravine for the game!

Another quality match-up for Friday night finds the Florida Marlins looking to square off against the rallying Philadelphia Phillies, with the solid Cole Hamels on the hill for the Phillies. On the other side of the ball, youngster Ricky Nolasco has been a great addition to the Marlins starting rotation, and will definitely keep this game tight with such a great competitor to square against on the hill today. The Phillies really have been playing excellent ball as of late, winning the last 10 of 11, which seems to have become a promising trend for the city of Brotherly Love. Seeing as though their pitching staff has settled in a bit, and their power has returned to the batting order, I’d be reluctant to bet against Philadelphia tonight, especially as they fight with both the Mets and the Marlins for tops of their division. Going once again to I’ll take a few wagers on this game, and hopefully we’ll all be treated to a great pitching duel, and an exciting finish from two good baseball clubs.

Closing out my wagering, I have to root for Felix Hernandez and my Seattle Mariners, as they open up a series in Cleveland and look to stay in contention in the AL West. Cleveland is finding themselves just about out of the season already, and if they don’t mind coughing up 2 out of 3 at home against my M’s that would make me one happy camper (as historically Seattle struggles against the Indians in Cleveland).
