Great weekend of sports betting on tap, featuring the top …

It’s a fine day for a break from the daily grind, and not to mention a fine day for more sportsbook betting, and it’s certainly a great opportunity to slip down to the nearest ballpark to take in the action front and center (provided of course you live on the West Side of the great pond). I do admit it’s always fortunate when a good sports contest featuring one of your favorite teams is in your area, which can always makes online sports betting a little more worthwhile, and nothing beats heading down to the ol’ ballpark and taking in the sights and sounds (and food of course) of the great American Pastime, on a beautiful weekend afternoon. However, for my sports betting intake today before the game, a little wagering at the Oddsmaker sportsbook (read the review of is all I’ll need, to help compliment a trip down to Anaheim for the Los Angeles Angels against my favorite team, the Seattle Mariners. Looking forward to seeing the outcomes of today sportsbook betting play out on the outfield scoreboard, today’s wagers will be quick, simple and to the point, so let’s get on with it!

For betting at our top sportsbooks today, another quality match-up for Saturday finds the San Francisco Giants looking to get even after a tough loss against the New York Mets last night, with Tim Lincecum favored against Chris Capuano. Checking out another game in the LA-area today, the San Diego Padres face the Los Angeles Dodgers, with both teams slumping at the plate tremendously, and a good pitching duel between Aaron Harang and Rubby De Le Rosa making for an opportunity to take the under wager on total runs. In New York today, Derek Jeter will once again seek out hit #3,000 in a day game against the Tampa Bay Rays, and while the eyes are on Jeter, my money will be on Tampa Bay and David Price, as he takes on A.J. Burnett, who while continuing to improve has yet to convince me that he can win in a straight up pitching duel against the best in the league. Speaking of a pitching duel between the best in the league, today’s game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Braves puts Cliff Lee against Tommy Hanson, in what should certainly make for a low-scoring match-up at Citizen’s Bank Ballpark in Philadelphia tonight. I’ll hedge my wager on the home team in this match-up, looking for a long ball to be the difference in the game as the two starters no-doubt will put out their best stuff and keep runners off the base paths for the majority of the game.

For a few final wagering opportunities on the day, I like the pitching match-up in Washington D.C., as Ubaldo Jimenez faces Jason Marquis, the latter pitcher looking to bounce back after his roughest outing of the season (getting chased after 1 1/3 innings, giving up 6 runs in a 2-10 loss to Pittsburgh). Count on this game to be a lot closer with Jimenez continuing to improve, and Marquis likely to have a much better start, but we’ll back the Rockies to get a boost with Troy Tulowitizki and Carlos Gonzalez back in the lineup after both of them have missed most of the week with injuries thus far. Speaking of returning from injury, Albert Pujols has also returned to the St. Louis Cardinals lineup, and tonight’s game between the Arizona Diamondbacks (Dan Hudson vs. Chris Carpenter) should be a good game between two of the league’s better teams heading into the All-Star Break. Check out some additional wagering options as Major League Soccer swings into high gear on Saturday, the 2011 Women’s World Cup features great elimination games as host country Germany takes on Japan, and England and France clash on the pitch, and the Canadian Football League gets into its second weekend of action with a couple games featuring Montreal at Saskatchewan and Hamilton vs. Edmonton. As you can see, great baseball and plenty more awaits those betting on sports today, and great sportsbook bets can be found right here by using the featured online sportsbooks reviewed on our website. Check out any of the 15 games on tap for sports fans today, for each and every one of them has the potential to make you some money as you (hopefully) sit relaxing at home, free from the shackles of the work week. For Saturday, turn to one of the best online sportsbooks around, not to mention one of my favorite sites at and find out why it is one of the simplest, easiest sportsbooks you might ever come across. Good luck in all your online sportsbook betting today, and for the rest of the weekend, and we’ll catch you again soon!
