Last chance on sportsbook betting options for MLB …

With the Major League Baseball All-Star break upon us tomorrow, today is the last day for betting on baseball before the Home Run Derby kicks off the festivities on Monday night, and the All-Star game on Tuesday night takes over for the usual onslaught of betting choices for the MLB heading into a new week of play. Luckily for baseball and sports betting fans alike, Sunday afternoon will feature some great match-ups for our online sportsbook betting with all teams in play making for 15 games on tap for online sports betting, which will undoubtedly show off some of the firepower to come ahead of Tuesday’s All-Star game showdown. As teams move past the half way point of the season, it always seems as though the spotlight tightens on Major League Baseball throughout the summer months, and players who have made it into the All-Star game like to show off why they were put there, giving their teams a valuable boost before closing the chapter on the first half. Besides the top action in Major League Baseball today, no doubt soccer fans will want to take a gander at the betting options for the 2011 Women’s World Cup, which continues to be one of the top Women’s tournaments in the world of sports, and features two great match-ups first with Australia and Sweden in an elimination game, followed by the match of the day as the United States clashes with Brazil in what will see one of the two best teams in this year’s competition sent home, while the other makes their way towards the championship game. With the calendar full of good potential wagers, I’ll head to one of the top sports betting websites at sportsbook (<a href=””>read the review of</a>), looking for the best betting options on the afternoon, hoping to make some money before most of the betting choices fall off the plate for Monday and Tuesday over the All-Star break.

We’ve got plenty of great pitching on tap for the games across the Major League Baseball landscape, and the first thing I’m looking into is where my fantasy baseball pitchers are stacked up today (yes, I’m a baseball dork, so sue me), and what I might be able to squeeze into sports betting without holding too much bias for my favorite pitchers. First up, Cole Hamels gets a favorable start at home against Derek Lowe and the Atlanta Braves, in what could be a solid option for your sports betting on the day, regardless of whether or not you have fantasy stake in the game. Lowe has started to become a little inconsistent of late, perhaps showing some signs of slowing down after putting in 110 innings of work in the first half, while Hamels continues to show great form, a high strike out  to walk ratio, and a young arm that seems to be getting better each week. In another stand-out match-up featuring two top pitchers in the American League, C.C. Sabathia and the New York Yankees takes on James Shields and the Tampa Bay Rays, in what should be a tight game, though favoring the Yankees for a victory (Shields, while definitely a first half MVP, has struggled in New York, with an ERA above 4.20 in his last 5 starts there). Looking to another favorable pitching match-up, the St. Louis Cardinals send Jaime Garcia to the hill to face Zach Duke, and I’ll drop some coin taking the Cardinals to even the 4-game series with win this afternoon.

Other great baseball games in store for today feature plenty of divisional games including the Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics closing out the weekend series with Matt Harrison and Tim Cahill making for a quality pitching match-up, Milwaukee looks for series victory against the visiting Cincinnati Reds who start Dontrelle Willis (yeah, where’d he go, and come from?) against the veteran Randy Wolf, and the Boston Red Sox look to continue their offensive onslaught against Baltimore and sweep the 4-game series if newcomer Kyle Weiland (filling in for Jon Lester) can simply hold the Orioles at bay while the Boston bats likely continue to punish O’s pitching. Check out all these top match-ups to close out the weekend and plenty more great online sports betting options to be had at the top sportsbook at, and from all of us here, have a great rest of the weekend, and a profitable trip to your favorite sports betting website today!
