MLB, NHL sportsbook betting for Monday

Monday night played host to yet another NHL Stanley Cup hockey game, as the Ottawa Senators looked to even up the series at home against the visiting Anaheim Ducks. Determined as I was that the Senators would successfully even up the series at two games apiece, my sportsbook betting for this game found me back once again at one of our best online sportsbooks at, taking out a wager on Ottawa to win on Monday night. Unfortunately for my modest wager, as well as the hopes of the Senator fan base, Anaheim broke loose after Ottawa jumped out to an early lead, and go home with a 3-1 lead in the series. The heartbreaking loss occurred after the Sens and Ducks went back and forth in the second period, eventually tying the game at 2-2 before the third period began. With Andy McDonald contributing two goals in the second to even things out, and Dustin Penner getting the go-ahead goal four minutes into the third, the Senators just could not muster up another rally to get back into this one. It’s back to Anaheim for a game six, and a possible new Stanley Cup Champion, but even as the series tally doesn’t show it, this has been a great series, even if my wagering hasn’t been so fortunate.

In Major League Baseball on Monday night, the woes certainly continue for the New York Yankees, as fans are growing anxious for Roger Clemens’ return to action and the Chicago White Sox turned the Yankee hardships into a 6-4 win at home. Even when Roger Clemens comes back, I’m pretty sure my online sports betting will not change, as the facts state that the Yankees have a much bigger problem that won’t be resolved by one ageing pitcher. Elsewhere in the Majors, the Angels just crushed the Twins with an 8 run 8th inning at home to win 16-3 on 23 hits. San Francisco evened the score against Philadelphia with an 8-1 win on the road, and my Seattle Mariners are finally looking like a real team again, as they put down the Baltimore Orioles 7-4 at Safeco Field. With the Angels, Mariners, and Giants winning Monday night, at least one of my online sportsbook bets came through, as my three-team parlay wager put a little extra money in my account at Major League Baseball has been great for betting on sports this season, and it’s only getting more exciting with every passing day.
