Major League Baseball bets for Wednesday

After what has seemed to be an eternity of focus set on the NHL and NBA playoffs, it is now time to get down to the nitty-gritty and set sights for betting on Major League Baseball for a while. The widespread lack of excitement in the NBA Finals series between San Antonio and Cleveland has got a lot of people ready to get back to the American pastime, and maybe wishing they hadn’t wagered on the last few games of the Finals. Well, maybe that’s just me, but I do know that betting on baseball certainly gives fans a lot more daily options to choose from, as well as much more opportunity for excitement as compared to the NBA Finals we are all unfortunate to be witnessing this year. Thus, for Wednesday I’ve headed over to one of our best online sportsbooks at for a bit of wagering and casino play, just to get the blood flowing again. With 15 games being played in the MLB, I’ll have my work cut out for me trying to pick the right bets today, but the options alone are exciting enough for this gambler.

I didn’t think I’d be saying this, but as far as betting is concerned, I’m riding Yankee coattails this week, at least as part of my parlay betting. It seems that the prospect of having Roger Clemens in the line-up (and indeed of him actually pitching) has sparked the pinstripes to hunker down and turn their season around in the matter of a week and a half. Riding a seven game winning streak heading into Wednesday, things are finally coming together, and tonight against the Arizona Diamondbacks, I’m betting the Mike Mussina will notch up another victory for the Bronx Bombers, and secure one part of my three-team parlay wager at I’ll be staying in-state for the remainder of my parlay wager bets, taking the Dodgers and Angels to win their games against the Mets and the Reds respectively. Brad Penny has been lights out this year for the L.A. Dodgers, and everytime I’ve seen his name come up while betting on sports, I’ve felt inclined to take the wager (maybe it’s the now 7-1 record, with a 2.18 ERA?) and both myself and the Dodgers have been extremely successful with him on the hill. For the Angels, John Lackey goes for a Major League leading 10th win this afternoon, and Cincinnati’s struggles this year should guide him to victory.
