It’s sad to say, but the NHL season has finally drawn to a close, as the Chicago Blackhawks emerged victorious on the road on Wednesday, beating the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 in Overtime for their first Cup win since 1961. Unfortunately for us, we were siding with the Flyers to hold on for one more game at least, but any which way you slice it, it’s been a great year for hockey fans, and for the NHL in general, with one of the best playoff season’s we’ve witnessed in years. With one playoff season down, there’s nothing to do now but to switch our full attention to NBA Basketball, and the upcoming Game 4 taking place from Boston, as the Celtics host the Lakers needing the equalizer to pull the series back to 2 games apiece. Between wagers on the NBA Finals, and the consistent feed of 15 Major League Baseball games available at one of the best online sports betting sites reviewed, Thursday looks to be another solid day of sports and sports betting this afternoon, and we’re back to one of our favorites, at the newly revamped Oddsmaker sportsbook (read the review of Oddsmaker.com).
To kick off wagering today, do some digging on the Boston vs. Los Angeles Series, and of note, you’ll find that the one beacon in this series has been the gradual reduction in total points scored in each game, reaching a low of only 175 points last night. With a points spread of 187.5 for tonights’ game, it’s a little low admittedly, but with the way both teams have been slowing down and playing more conservative defense, the under bet on total points looks to be a good mark. One thing is certain for this game; Boston needs a win if they are to stand any chance of making it back to Los Angeles with a hope in grabbing a single game to clinch a Finals victory. Both teams will need better scoring as well from their bench, as we’ve seen a number of starters fade in and out of productivity. Los Angeles has not shown that their bench can step it up, so the key to the game for Boston is getting Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis, Nate Robinson, and Rasheed Wallace active early, and giving rest to Rajon Rondo and the starting 5. Any which way you slice it for betting on sports today, count on a great game, lots of back and forth action, and likely a tight, low-scoring finish when it’s all said and done.
