Sunday’s MLB, College World Series baseball action …

The 2011 College World Series rolls into Day 2 of competition after a surprising opening day yesterday saw Vanderbilt gain another first by getting past North Carolina and into the winner’s bracket to face #2 Florida who got past #7 Texas 8-4 Saturday afternoon. In preparation for online sports betting on Sunday, we’ll all have to take a look once again at this exciting tournament in NCAA Baseball, as two more games get underway with another underdog in the field in California, who takes on tournament favorite and #1 seed Virginia this afternoon. Last year’s title winners, South Carolina also gets into action today against a good Texas A&M team, in what should be a pivotal game for both teams (even though the Gamecocks did manage to win the whole series on six straight victories after losing the first game). My first item of business for Sunday is of course to inform everyone to get down to one of the best online sportsbooks reviewed here, and place your wagers on whatever you see fit, however baseball fan or not, the 2011 College World Series is an exciting tournament for sports fans of all flavors, and no doubt you’ll want to join me, even if only for a casual wager, at one of the top sportsbooks for a piece of the action on the CWS today. If you’re unfamiliar with college sports, or college baseball in particular, now would be a great time to get into the action by reviewing all the stats and editorial information provided at our featured online sportsbooks, and make an educated bet at who will come out victorious tomorrow. My wagers on Virginia to shutdown Cal (Cavs staff ace Danny Hultzen is definetly worth watching today), and South Carolina behind Michael Roth to prevail are already placed at sportsbook (read the review of so join me in building a little excitement for what will be a great Day 2 in the College World Series!

For Major League Baseball today, the exciting interleague play continues with the weekend series wrapping up, and more great opportunities to make a little extra cash by betting on sports while these fun match-ups play out. I may be favorite team-biased, but even as Seattle die-hard I have to say that today’s match-up between the Mariners and the Philadelphia Phillies will be a solid Game 3 of the series to check out, as the Phillies’ Cole Hamels tries to become a 10-game winner against Jason Vargas this afternoon. Expecting yet another pitching duel here, look for low-scoring to be the flavor of the game from pitcher-friendly Safeco Field, and Philadelphia to come away with a win as Hamels prevails. Elsewhere the Oakland A’s look for a rare series sweep against the San Francisco Giants in a great pitching match-up featuring Tim Cahill vs. Matt Cain, Tampa Bay shoots to extend the Florida Marlins’ losing streak to 10 as ace pitcher James Shields continues his hot June streak (and builds off of last weekend’s complete game shutout of the heavy-hitting Boston Red Sox), and I’ll also go with the Twins to keep on winning against the punchless San Diego Padres, and nab their 7th win in a row to continue to climb out of the AL Central basement.

I still can’t fully convey how exciting the College World Series will be for sports fans looking for a change of pace from the daily MLB offerings for betting on sports, so without a doubt make sure to pepper in a couple wagers on the CWS today or sometime over the next 10 days to break up the monotony of Major League Baseball. While I’m certainly no expert in betting on College Baseball, there’s plenty of information to be found by digging around online across local sports blogs for pitching match-ups, key players in batting line-ups, as well as historical information on the teams playing in this year’s series, that anyone like me can find College Baseball to be just as exciting to wager on as MLB baseball, if not more so. The fans, the small-town atmosphere, and the drive of these young players bring a real connection to the true roots of American Pastime. These guys love the game. No huge paychecks, no endorsement deals, and nothing but the love of the game brings these guys out to the ballpark. It’s baseball in a true form that should be able to be appreciated by any sports fan, and has been a great time for betting on sports at our featured reviewed sportsbooks here at Enjoy the options for online sports betting at the best sportsbook at today, and as always best of luck to you with any wagers you place today and in the future!
