College Basketball Saturday

What a crazy day it has been. Today is proof that just about anything can, will, and does happen in NCAA hoops on any given Saturday. I certainly hope that all of you were luckier than me today, as I lost all the bets wagered on this afternoon’s games, and hang my head in shame as I write this update (sigh). Taking two parlay wagers out at, and one more bet straight up on the USC vs. Washington State game,  my 20 dollars fluttered away as quickly as I had placed the bets in the first place. I took USC to win at Washington State and after two overtimes, the Trojans came up short by two measly points. Regardless of that loss of money, I regained a slight bit of pride as my hometown Washington Huskies bumped off UCLA by 10 points in Seattle.  Why didn’t I bet on that game? We’ll never know. Just another reason why betting on the home team is a safe wager to place, even if the home team is an unranked underdog going up against the #2 team in the country. I’m still a noob I guess.

On a day like today though, it is hard to really be upset. Not having to be at the daily grind is almost worth dropping a few bucks on some well contested basketball games. I consider my sportsbook wagers well worth it so long as the sports action is exciting, and my home teams don’t get crushed in defeat. One of the best games of the day happened to be between the #1 OSU Buckeyes and the Michigan Wolverines, taking place in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  On the solid play of freshman star Greg Ogden, who came up with 12 of his 16 points in the second half, Ohio State rallied to clip Michigan 65-61 in the last game of the season for both teams. Also, the Texas vs. Kansas game found the #3 Jayhawks rallying from behind to beat the Longhorns in a 90-86 shootout and simultaneously clinch the Big 12 division. This was a great game down to the final seconds, and both of the teams playing showed that they are worthy contenders in the NCAA Tournament.

With that little update, I pick up my pride off the floor, and await another day off sports tomorrow. You can be sure that I’ll be checking out the UNC vs. Duke match-up, placing a wager on North Carolina to beat the points spread. Duke is a developing team again, and if they can’t hold a win at home, they certainly won’t be able to do it in their arch rivals’ home arena. Nonetheless, a great rivalry should never be missed out on and I can’t wait for it! So have a great remainder of the weekend, and hopefully for all of us, Sunday will bring better luck for all the exciting sports action in store for the day. Thank you once again for using for the best in online sportsbooks and casinos the internet has to offer.
