2nd day of 2nd NCAA Tournament action gives sportsbook …

After a wild first full day of the NCAA tournament, many of us find ourselves this morning with a few busted brackets, a little bit of head scratching after some of the losses seen in otherwise seemingly lopsided match-ups, but excited once again for another full day of the madness that is one of the best sports events to take place throughout the course of the year. With a few big name teams already bumped from the tournament as Louisville was handed a shocking upset by Morehead State, and Michigan State capped off a perfectly disappointing season by getting dropped by UCLA, today’s action will no doubt see more exciting finishes, buzzer beaters, and upsets that makes for a great day of basketball fun and even more options for online sports betting at one of the top sports betting websites reviewed right here! For today, we’re taking another foray into the multitude of wagers lined up at the Betus.com sportsbook (read the review of Betus.com), one of our highlighted sportsbook betting destinations gracing the front of our website for years. A reliable, simple, and trustworthy site with great internal staff, easy deposits and payouts, and a reputation as an industry leader in a saturated market, make BetUs Sportsbook your one-stop shop for betting on the NCAA Tournament today, and for any and all sports betting taking place into the future.

Getting into the available games slated for second round competition in the NCAA Tournament, and subsequently for online sportsbook betting today, we open up the wagering with another great 13-4 match-up as the young guns of Texas take on small but powerful Oakland. This is another great game with upset potential, as Oakland has had an impressive year, and no doubt will have even more confidence heading in to this morning’s match-up, based on the events that unfolded yesterday. We’re looking out for a run-and-gun game today featuring high scoring and another tight finish, therefore giving rise to taking Oakland to cover the points set at BetUs Sportsbook today. In the second match-up starting shortly thereafter, turn your sights to Michigan vs. Tennessee in another tight 8 vs. 9 seed match-up, with both teams trying to prove something after sub-par years, and for the Volunteers, head coach Bruce Peal may simply be seeking wins to secure him a future after a tough year plagued with indiscretions. Tennessee gets our bet and our bracket advancement today, though expect a very close finish here as both teams put it all on the line. In the second 8 vs. 9 pairing, a more interesting match-up showcases a fading Villanova team looking to simply hold on against a real threat in George Mason, and perhaps rebuild their confidence after losing 5 straight to close out the regular season. No doubt GM has something to prove having earned their first single-digit seeding in the tournament this year, and certainly they smell blood from a Wildcats team that has had the confidence taken out of them. However, Villanova’s caliber of competition in the Big East this year gives them a sizeable advantage, as just about every conference game has been like a tournament showdown, and for that, the Wildcats are our pick to hold out the 1.5 point favorite and pick up a win in the second round today.

Next up on the sports betting lines this afternoon, #2 Notre Dame should find themselves in similar territory to UConn and Florida, with a pushover game against the Akron Zips, as is made evident by the 13.5 point spread given to the Fighting Irish as favorite. Led by Big East player of the year Ben Hansbrough and a great supporting cast, and up against a veteran team in Akron, Notre Dame should bring their A-game to the dance today, albeit likely that Akron puts up a good fight, enough for them to stay within 13.5 points. For the second game in this timeslot (2:45 PM ET), #12 Memphis draws the only ranked team from the Pac-10 in Arizona, and will likely find tough going against the physicality of the Wildcats, who are looking to regain their national form with a good run in this year’s tournament. Memphis is simply too young this year to contend, and will struggle to contain Pac-10 player of the year Derrick Williams this afternoon. However, with both teams perfectly happy to run the ball and put up big numbers, there’s no question that this should be an enjoyable game to watch as it should be one of the higher scoring games of the day, albeit with Arizona controlling tempo and winning with relative ease. As we skip past the 16 vs. 1 seeds in competition including Duke vs. Hampton, Ohio State vs. Texas-San Antonio and Kansas vs. Boston U, we’ll find one additional mid-afternoon game, pitting 7th seed Florida State vs. 10 seed Texas A&M to be well worth checking into both for sportsbook betting and for viewing enjoyment. With a 1 point advantage going to the Aggies today, you know this one will be a hotly contested match-up, and anyone’s game. With Florida State still missing their leading scorer and rebounder in Chris Singleton (who may or may not play, but if he does, will be limited and rusty), we have to go with Texas A&M to have the upper hand, as they look to get past first the Seminoles, and then likely the Fighting Irish to head home to Texas for Sweet 16 action. As both teams thrive on solid defense, expect a lower scoring game here, and another tight finish as the Aggies just nip the Seminoles.

After looking over #2 seed North Carolina vs. #15 Long Island, as well as #3 Purdue vs. #14 St. Peter’s (with neither game likely to be worth wagering on, or even watching for that matter, lest you simply enjoy squeezing in all the action you can), we’ll skip up another great 8 vs. 9 match-up as Illinois draws UNLV in an exciting pairing. Feeling awfully similar to the plight of Michigan State this year, and even getting dropped by the Spartans down the stretch, the Fighting Illini finished their season losing 10 of their last 16 games to just squeak into the tournament with a 19-13 record, after being ranked in the Top 25 for most of the first half. On the flipside, the Runnin’ Rebels come in hot, and confident, after a great regular season finishing behind BYU and San Diego State. A tale of the tape here is UNLV’s outstanding first round record of 13-3, versus Illinois last two outs in the first round, and confidence will play key here in UNLV’s win this afternoon. Pushing towards another great match-up, #6 Xavier looks to hand Marquette a quick out, with help from A10 player of the year Tu Holloway, as the Musketeers shoot for yet another consecutive trip into the Sweet 16. As could be well argued, experience counts huge in March, and with Xavier oozing with it, they are a good bet to advance with the 2 point favorite at BetUS Sportsbook today. With our final online sports betting in place as Washington looks to bump off Georgia after building on winning a wild Pac-10 championship over Arizona (and our pick to make a decent run at an upset past North Carolina ahead), Georgetown puts away VCU, and Syracuse easily handles Indiana State, another full plate of NCAA Tournament is set up, and will no doubt provide you with these great betting options and exciting viewing throughout the day, should you be able to squeeze a game or two in.

Wrapping up the online sports betting options at BetUS Sportsbook today, we turn to more hotly contested action in the NBA and NHL tonight, as the seasons wind down towards the postseason, and teams fight for the remaining playoff spots with a fervor that always makes for great options on your betting ticket. The NBA features a full boat of 12 contests tonight, including a big match-up between Chicago and Indiana, with the Pacers trying to stay in contention for a 8 seed in the Eastern Conference, while knocking back a surging Bulls team, winners of 8 straight. Having owned Indiana this year on great defensive play, and allowing only 82.0 on average over their 8 wins, this match-up could end up being a precursor to a #1 vs. #8 match-up in the first round of the playoffs, however it also could be a set-up for an eventual sweep as well, as Indiana continues to struggle against top competition this year. Find a more interesting, and faster-paced game as Denver gets a big road challenge taking on Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic down in Florida today, Atlanta hosts Miami as these two teams both look to build up confidence in what should be an exciting game down South, and a great Texas match-up between #1 and #2 out West gets underway as Dallas and San Antonio clash, with our nod going to Dallas at home (as they’ve historically played very well against San Antonio there, and look to take advantage of a chink in the armor of the Spurs, exposed in their 30 point loss to Miami). Hockey fans make sure to check out 4 great contests in NHL action tonight as well, as a Western Conference clash between Vancouver and Phoenix should make for an exciting option for online sports betting, along with the Devils trying to continue their rise towards a playoff seed against Washington tonight, and the Montreal Canadiens visit New York to take on the Rangers. With another huge day of College Basketball in the NCAA Tournament, great games in the NBA and NHL as the seasons wind down and the competition heats up, find all the sports betting action at the top sportsbook at BetUS.com to make an exciting day even more fruitful, and hopefully more profitable!
