Champions League Football, NHL and NBA playoff and more …

As we push forward into another day of great opportunities for online sports betting at one of the best sportsbooks reviewed on our website, plenty of attention gets turned to the continuation of the NBA and NHL Conference Semifinals playing out through this week and next, but for an added treat early on in the afternoon, the fourth and final El Clasico pairing between Real Madrid and Barcelona manifests itself in the second leg of the Champions League Semifinals, taking place from the storied Camp Nou in Barcelona. With this match and tomorrow’s clash between Schalke 04 and Manchester United (all but decided already as Man Utd. holds a firm advantage on the aggregate), today’s showdown looks to solidify the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium this year, between two of the best, if not THE two best teams in the entire world, competing against each other in the highest level of football competition. Whether or not you align yourself as a football fan (or soccer, if you still prescribe to the American title given to avoid confusion with NFL Football), a match-up such as Real Madrid vs. Barcelona seeps with history, skill and drama, all of which should be more than enough for any sports fan to get behind when the time comes. For us, we’re opening today’s wagering off with a bet on the RM v. Barca match, taking a gander at the sports betting options at the sportsbook (read the review of, where Barcelona pulls a strong favorite to win at home, and a high likelihood of some high scoring evident in the -180 for the over wager on 2.5 goals. Expect exciting action from Christiano Ronaldo, Leo Messi and all the other stars out in force today, and learn a bit more about why football truly is one of the most amazing games in the entire world.

Moving off my soap box and away from pouring affection on the beautiful game, there’s plenty more traditional options for North American sports fans today, as the NBA Playoffs continue with another pair of exciting Conference Semifinal games slated, including Game 2 match-ups between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics, as well as the Memphis Grizzlies against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Though there’s not too much of a surprise in the Miami vs. Boston series as the Heat jumped out to a 1-0 lead after a 99-90 win at home (we’re hedging another wager to take the over bet on total points at 181.5 tonight), the Memphis Grizzlies on the other hand gave the Thunder a tough match-up en route to a 13 point opening win on the road, which no doubt will have OKC looking to a new game plan in order to deal with the potent tandem of Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol in the paint. In order to bounce back, the Thunder will need more than just the high scoring of their two stars, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, who both put up solid numbers in Game 1 that was easily trumped by a better team effort from Memphis. Without a better all-around defensive effort in Game 2, the Thunder could be in a heap of trouble heading back to Memphis for Games 3 and 4, and with Memphis getting a surprising +6.5 underdog, we’re going with the Grizzlies to keep this close even in a loss as they retain confidence from Game 1 and continue their offensive pressure.

To the NHL playoffs set for tonight, the Vancouver vs. Nashville series shifts also to Tennessee, where the tightest series of the conference semifinals continues to give fans of both sides tense moments and exciting thrills as the games come down to the wire each time. With only 4 goals score in total in the first two affairs, one might think that something has to give, as was the case in both the Anaheim vs. Nashville series as well as the Vancouver vs. Chicago series in the 1st round. Though both Roberto Luongo and Pekka Rinne have been outstanding in goal, the pressure turns to the offensive sides to produce a victory tonight, as none of the normal characters have gotten on the scoring boards in this series and are bound to break loose eventually. With Vancouver as a favorite tonight on the road, perhaps a reasonable wager could be the underdog bet on the money taking the Predators, however rooting for higher scoring as chances simply have to start hitting nets more often, we’ll hedge on the over 5 goals wager at +115 for our bet on Game 3 tonight. Switching to the other side of the conference semifinals tonight, Tampa Bay’s surprising 2-0 lead has the Washington Capitals scratching their heads and up against the wall in Game 3 in Tampa, with the Lightning showing their overwhelming offensive attack to be even more potent than that of the Caps led by Alex Ovechkin. Dwayne Roloson in goal for Tampa has been absolutely key for Tampa Bay’s success in this series, and with confidence growing for both him and the entire Lightning side, the next bet goes a little out on a limb taking Tampa Bay to win by 2 goals to nab a +245 option on the betting lines. While the Capitals will be playing with more intensity, chances are greater that they’ll leave themselves exposed, and young Michal Neuvirth may have met his match against the 41-year old veteran Roloson in this series.

Lastly but certainly not least for online sports betting at the top sportsbooks reviewed here, Major League Baseball gets back into a full load of games on Tuesday, which no doubt will give you plenty of options at Superbook sportsbook to pick up a couple of favorable wagers. Of note, look for the solid pitching duel between Cole Hamels and Livan Hernandez as Philadelphia and Washington meet tonight with a good wagering option taking under 8 runs as both pitchers should be on point. Another great duel features Jon Lester and Dan Haren battling as the Los Angeles Angels take on the Boston Red Sox from Fenway Park in Game 2 of their current series, and as always whenever Mike Leake hits the mound for the Cincinnati Reds, look for lots of runs on the board and another Reds victory, this time tonight against the weak Houston Astros. Surprising as it is to see only 8.5 runs as the total for this game, we’ll jump all over that over wager at -105 for a simple pick up with Leake (4.40 ERA, 3-0) and J.A. Happ (6.35 ERA, 1-4) pitted against each other. Look for another good match-up between two of the best National League teams starting out the 2011 campaign as the St. Louis Cardinals once again host the Florida Marlins, and find plenty other MLB wagers on tap at to round out another great day of top sportsbook betting across one of the best sports betting sites reviewed right here!
