Short day of sportsbook betting options at

Heading towards another great weekend of sports and online sportsbook betting, Thursday is more of a relaxed day in the world of sports bets, with a lax day of NBA action featuring only two games, 6 games in the NHL Hockey season, but a morning full of solid UEFA Europa League matches taking place to start off hopefully positive gains in your online sports betting account. After over a month of competition on the European scale, a number of teams from less prominent national leagues continue to make headway in continental competition, offering options for taking riskier bets with higher rewards at least a few times during the week. For Thursday’s football action in Europe, fans will be treated to a ton of UEFA Europa League contests, as the second round of competition gets underway around the European continent. Further, with Major League Soccer continuing playoff action, it’s a fine time to refocus for a moment, and get involved in the exciting atmosphere of soccer, and learn a bit more about this great sport. Taking a trip to one of the tried and true online sports betting sites at (read the review of Intertops), we’ll entertain a few wagering options on some of the better-known match-ups in play today, including solid advantages for home teams. As has been the case for English teams especially, heading to the road has been precarious indeed (Arsenal comes to mind after yesterday’s loss at Shakhtar), so the key upset for today lies with Manchester City (missing a host of key players, including Tevez), against Lech Poznan, a pretty good Polish team looking to rebound after firing their head coach, and playing well on the European circuit.

In NBA action today, an interesting match-up comes around as Chicago hosts the New York Knicks, the latter team having lost a couple of very close games to Boston and Portland, and looking to put together a strong performance on the road I like their chances tonight, albeit in a tight game. Being underdogs, the spread looks tempting for taking the Knicks, which will get paired with the Portland vs. Oklahoma City game, in which the Trail Blazers should nip the Thunder on home court. In a nostalgic battle of sorts between the former Seattle Sonics and their Pac Northwest rivals the Trail Blazers, I’ll go with the bigger team, and the battle under the boards favoring Portland to make the difference tonight. As the NBA moves along in it’s exciting season, now is a great time to take a deeper look at all the teams in the league, start analyzing where the potential for victories are, and what weaknesses are likely to be exploited based on particular match-ups each night. With only a few teams launching out of the gates in fine form and plenty of room for improvement with some of the younger teams in the league, keep watching for trends to develop at team mesh together, and pick up the pace. Teams to watch at the moment include the L.A. Lakers, Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat and New Orleans Hornets, all of which look like prime teams for staying true with winning ways through to the playoffs.

Switching over to the NHL for a few sportsbook bets on the ice, look for the L.A. Kings to use their momentum to wipe out an embarrassing home loss record against Tampa Bay (having gone 1-10 at Staples against the Lightning all time), as Jonathan Quick in goal continues to try to maintain perfection with his 8th win on the season. Getting Drew Doughty back on ice for the Kings after a concussion kept him out for 6 games will no doubt help, but the key to the game remains limiting the powerful Lightning offense, centered around Steven Stamkos. In further action, the Vancouver Canucks take their 4 game win streak to Colorado, looking to throw the road monkey off their backs and win their second road game of the year (after their first coming against Edmonton on Tuesday night), and with a better looking power-play coming around, my money is on the Canucks to ride the wave of recent success to victory against the Avs. Acting on winning streaks, look further to the Philadelphia Flyers, who continue to regain their strong physical form, and on the opposite look for the Ottawa Senators to take advantage of the New York Islanders skid, as the Isles have dropped 5 straight while the Sens continue to build confidence after a rough start on the year.
