We’ve finally reached the day that any self-respecting baseball fan looks for over the course of the very long baseball season; It’s playoff time! With the excitement surrounding the two opening games today featuring the Colorado Rockies vs. the Philadelphia Phillies and the Boston Red Sox vs. the L.A Angels, I certainly couldn’t resist getting my online sports betting locked up yesterday night, in preparation for an exciting wait until the first game started this afternoon. Unfortunately for my first bet on the Phillies vs. Rockies game Philadelphia played a good game, but a bad second inning for Cole Hamels sealed the fate for the Phillies and for my first wager of the playoffs as the Rockies won 4-2 this afternoon. Jeff Francis on the other hand, pitching for the Rockies came through with a very solid outing, giving up just two runs on six hits, in a well-deserved victory for a pitcher that many, including myself had doubts about. It may have been tough call in this game today, however I could care less today, as I’m just excited to have playoff baseball available for online sportsbook betting.
In the second game today between Boston and the L.A. Angels, another amateur mistake has me sitting in a tough position as Josh Beckett has come out like the All-Star pitcher he is, and is just mowing down the Angels at home. Now into the 8th inning, Beckett has given up only two measly hits, and still has 98 mile per hour gas. Amazing. Picking the Angels to get within a run and a half may have been a stretch for today’s game, especially with the likes of Mr. Beckett on the hill. I never bet against him in the regular season, and this time I’m certainly thumping my head to figure out why I placed my wager on anything except a Boston win. Hopefully all the rest of you didn’t make the same mistake that I did, and are well on your way to taking home a little extra cash tonight. I guess there is always those days when things don’t quite go your way, and I’m just glad that although I didn’t get lucky with the first two games, there’s still one left today, and a chance to get back at least a few bucks on the Arizona vs. Chicago game that starts in just about an hour.
This Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Chicago Cubs series should be a really good one. Both teams are pretty evenly matched, with the first game pitchers making for a great match-up. Brandon Webb goes for the Dbacks, with Carlos Zambrano for the Cubbies, and this will be just as tough of a call as the first two games of the day. I’ll take under on the total points tonight with these two on the mound, and hope that I don’t embarrass myself in a trifecta of blown sportsbook bets. If you haven’t got your bets in at one of our top sportsbooks featured here, there is still a bit of time left, and you won’t want to miss out on a great baseball game with great pitching tonight. Check back in tomorrow, enjoy the last game of the day, and as always, good luck on your online sports betting!
