Opening night for the NFL, continuing Major League …

With the opening day of the NFL now come and gone, I can safely say that Thursday night’s football contest between the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts left quite a bit to be desired, especially if you were unfortunate enough to wager any type of sportsbook bet on the Saints. With a 41-10 blowout at home, the Colts definitely showed right off the bat how little a pre-season record matters (going 1-3), and how much of a threat they are to repeat as Superbowl champs again this year. Luckily for my online sportsbook betting on the game, I chose the under wager on total points, and happened to just squeak by with 2.5 points to spare on the 53.5 point margin offered at Going 1-1 is a great start for me, as in years past I’ve always had a bit of difficulty cracking the first wager of a new sports season. Any which way you take it, Thursday night’s game was just a taste of what’s to come this weekend, and it will be worth your while to head down to one of our best online sportsbooks and start looking into some NFL wagers for this weekend.

Turning back to Major League Baseball on Thursday night, it was a little bit quiet on the evening while the NFL took center stage, However, there were a couple of contests worth checking into, especially the two games with very strong playoff consequences between the L.A. Angels and the Cleveland Indians, as well as the Chicago Cubs hosting the L.A. Dodgers. As to be expected, the Angels crushed the Indians at home 10-3, proving why they are tops in the majors across a number of categories at home. Averaging almost 6 runs per game at home, with a .308 team average and going 48-23 will help get you to the post season every time. With Seattle just throwing their season away, the Angels may not only secure the best record in baseball, but will easily cruise to another AL West Pennant. How the Mariners are still within 3 games of the Wild Card, I have no idea. What I do know, is that I certainly won’t be placing anymore bets on them this season, as I’ve lost all faith in my home team to be a reliable wager.

Out west in the National League, things are really getting interesting now that the playoffs are less than a month away. With the Dodgers coming back to win 7-4 against the Cubs on Thursday, and the gap between 1st and 4th in the division at only 5 games, this is one division to keep an eye on. Many people have written off the Dodgers already, citing lack of power, but anything can happen down the home stretch, and I still haven’t counted out the Rockies chance at a playoff birth. Check out the teams in this division this weekend in your online sports betting, and enjoy the great action to come across all sports leagues.
