Sports Betting News - September 30, 2009
NHL opening night tomorrow, last few sportsbook bets on MLB regular season
It's the last day of September folks, and along with that comes the last few days of the Major League Baseball season, as well as the upcoming start of the National Hockey League's 2009-10 campaign. There are few times in the year where you are able to have such a wide variety of sports to choose from when wagering at one of the top sportsbooks reviewed here on our site, and for Wednesday, I'm licking my chops for the upcoming wagers on the NHL games on tap now, along with the great football action in the European leagues, and not to mention the bevy of MLB games with playoff implications tonight. If you haven't checked in recently to one of the best online sportsbooks reviewed for some action on professional baseball, now is the time to take advantage on some teams who just might sneak into the postseason, or make some money on those with nothing to lose.
For my sportsbook wagers today, I'm off to one of our best online sportsbooks at Sportsbook.com (read the review of sportsbook.com) and start with Major League Baseball. There's still a serious race in the AL Central, and as such a wager on the Detroit Tigers vs. Minnesota Twins game sounds necessary. The Twins aren't out of it yet, but it's pretty much the Tigers playoff birth to lose right now. Detroit is always tough at home, and down the stretch I'll take my chances on Detroit to revive their struggling city, and get a win tonight. Today also has a good match-up with Roy Halladay on the mound for the Blue Jays against the Red Sox. I like him especially with Tim Wakefield pitching for Boston, as the Jays typically hit him well. With the Phillies over the Astros, the Cubs over the Pirates, and the Yankees over the Royals, I have a few wagers in place already, but still ready for a few more bets at Sportsbook.com before the night is over.
With 4 NHL games in store for opening night tomorrow, I have to wager on the Vancouver Canucks over the Calgary Flames, the Washington Capitals over the Boston Bruins, and the San Jose Sharks over the Colorado Avalanche. Hoping to start the season on a lucky note, a nice little wager to kick off the season will hopefully boost some future bets on the NHL, and also fuel some of the upcoming European football in action all week.
