NFL Football Week 1 gets underway with sportsbook bets at …

It’s finally the day that all NFL football fans have been waiting for; the official start of a full day of Sunday football featuring games that actually count!!! For Sunday’s football action, sports fans and those people betting on sports in our best online sportsbooks reviewed here are to be treated to a number of great games, player debuts, and hopefully spectacular plays on both sides of the ball that are typical of Sunday morning, afternoon and evening with the NFL. While it’s fully expected that a number of contests will feature teams just trying to get into season shape, and caution will be present more than at any time in the season going forward, prepare for some exciting games with great finishes and huge plays, indicative of one of the best sports played anywhere in the world. With today’s wagers on the NFL, we’re headed to another one of the best online sports betting sites reviewed here, at the Bookmaker Sportsbook (read the review of Bookmaker Sportsbook). Bet with confidence at the Bookmaker Sportsbook, which features a great website with easy navigation, as well as prompt payouts, great bonus chances, and spot on betting lines.

Right away, we have to go with a two-team parlay wager for two early nationally televised games (at least on the West Coast), between first the Oakland Raiders and the Tennessee titans, and also the Carolina Panthers facing a tough trip to the new Meadowlands Stadium to take on the New York Giants. While once again the Raiders are being met with optimism, we’ll leave that for a few weeks down the road, and go with the ever-improving Vince Young, backed by Chris Johnson to be a tough tandem to tackle for the Raider defense. Our pick, Tennessee 21, Oakland 10. For the Giants vs. Carolina contest, even though we don’t like how easily Eli Manning can get off track and be prone to the INT’s, Matt Moore isn’t quite up to caliber as a leader yet, and doesn’t have nearly the same well rounded offensive weapons to choose from (see Hakeem Nicks, Mario Manningham, Steve Smith, and Ahmad Bradshaw). In the first game to christen the new Stadium, we’re picking the Giants 27-17 to start the year off well.

Moving on to further NFL wagers for Sunday, the biggest question mark may come from the New England vs. Cinncinati game, with much hype around the strong off-season moves of the Bengals, and plenty of question marks for the Patriots, especially in their defensive ranks. With two very potent offensive attacks though, we’re looking for big scoring, and going out on a limb, we’re taking Cincinnati to upset the Pats at home in Week 1. Moving along to the Pittsburgh vs. Atlanta contest, expect very low scoring in a ground-it-out game, as Pittsburgh’s D is looking scary with Troy Polamalu back in full action, and the usual bevy of intense linebackers, and strong D-line. With Atlanta getting the advantage, it’s a prime underdog wager on Pittsburgh to get the win (as they’ll need to considering their intense 4 game stretch vs. top ranked teams to start the year). Look out for Houston to unleash their new star tailback Arian Foster as the Texans look to break free of Indianapolis’ ownership of the series (15-1), and any which way, we fully expect to watch the scoreboard light up, with two questionable defensive units, and two very high-powered offenses on the field.

If anything can be said of this weekend, it is that this only begins the amazing winter sports season run (with NBA Basketball, NHL Hockey, and tons of European Football in store soon!) and you can bet that there will be much more to come, both today in NFL Football and Major League Baseball, tomorrow night for Monday Night Football, all the great NCAA Football action into the future.
