Sunday NBA Quick Picks: March 24

With all eyes on the third round of the NCAA Tournament today, some of the big games in the NBA might get overlooked. That’s why we are bringing you the quick picks for five of today’s eight games, so that you can get your NBA wagers in quick and flip back and forth between all of the incredible hardcourt action that is taking place today. Here are those picks:

Charlotte Bobcats +17 at Miami Heat -17

You’d be crazy to go against the Miami Heat, who are on a 25-game winning streak, at home today, but it’s tough for any team to cover a huge spread like 17 points. The Bobcats will certainly be bringing their best game into Miami, as they don’t have much else to play for other than spoiling Miami’s shot at the record. Look for Miami to win, but take Charlotte to cover +17 today.

San Antonio Spurs -1.5 at Houston Rockets +1.5

With Tony Parker back from injury, the West-leading Spurs should be back to top form today, but they’ll be on the road against a surging Rockets team that has won their last two games. However, considering the Spurs are 3-0 against Houston this year, going on the road shouldn’t be a problem for San Antonio. Take the Spurs to sweep the season series and cover -1.5 in the process.

Portland Trail Blazers +11.5 at Oklahoma City Thunder -11.5

Portland desperately needs a win to hang in the Western Conference playoff race, but they’ll be hard pressed to get one in one of the most hostile environments in the league. Oklahoma City is 30-5 at home this season and should certainly earn the W, but expect the Blazers to come hard and challenge the Thunder down the stretch, covering +11.5.

Chicago Bulls +2.5 at Minnesota Timberwolves -2.5

The Bulls have hit a rough patch, winning just four out of their last 10 games, but they’ve still got the talent and the wherewithal to take down the lowly Timberwolves, even on the road. Take Chicago to cover +2.5 and earn the win.

Utah Jazz +6 at Dallas Mavericks -6

In one of the most significant games of the day, the Jazz will travel to Dallas to take on the Mavs. Both teams are battling for the final playoff spot in the West, but Dallas has been on the upswing lately as winners of seven of their last 10, whereas Utah is going in the opposite direction as losers of eight of their last 10. Stick with the hot team and take Dallas to cover -6 in the win.
