Wednesday NBA Quick Picks

Come hungry NBA bettors because the Association has a full 10 game slate today that should satisfy just about everyone’s cravings. We’ve provided some tasty quick picks for today’s hardcourt battles, so make sure to peruse through and only sample a few if you don’t want to bite off more than can chew. However, if you have the appetite, go ahead and bet as many as you want!

Chicago Bulls -3.5 at Toronto Raptors +3.5

The Raptors are certainly playing better lately, but with one of the league’s best road squads coming to town, things don’t look good for the dinos. Take the Bulls to cover -3.5 in this one and improve to 11-5 away from the United Center.

Indiana Pacers -1 at Orlando Magic +1

Although the Pacers have had their share of struggles on the road this season, they should be able to handle a team with a 7-12 record at home, especailly since the Pacers have one of the best defenses in the league, allowing fewer than 90 points per game. Take Indiana to cover -1 in the win.

Brooklyn Nets at +4.5 Atlanta Hawks -4.5

There’s no way around it. The Hawks are slumping and the Nets have found new life under interim coach P.J. Carlesimo. I certainly won’t invest anything in the Hawks at the moment, which are 3-7 in their last 10 and are coming off a game in which they scored fewer than 60 points. Meanwhile, the Nets have won nine of 10. This seems like a no-brainer. Take Brooklyn to cover +4.5 and win outright today.

New Orleans Hornets +8 at Boston Celtics -8

It’s hard to call a 12-26 team hot, but by winning six of their last 10 the New Orleans Hornets are certainly displaying a much improved brand of basketball at the moment than they did earlier this season. However, Boston is on its own upswing, winning its last six games in a row. Since both teams are playing well though, I expect a close game here. Take the Hornets to cover +8 in what will probably be a loss.

Denver Nuggets E at Oklahoma City Thunder E

Both teams come into this match-up red-hot, but with home court advantage and the league’s best record, I would never go against the Thunder, especially with even odds. Take OKC to win this one.

Houston Rockets E at Dallas Mavericks E

With Dallas on a three-game win streak and with Houston dropping its last four, I’d stick with the hot team and the home team here and take Dallas to win this one against the Rockets.

Memphis Grizzlies E at San Antonio Spurs E

The Grizz will need Rudy Gay to take down the Spurs on the road

The Spurs would normally be a favorite at home, but with Manu Ginobili out odds makers have this at Even Steven. However, Rudy Gay may be out as well and considering the home team has won the last few meetings in this series, I still like the Spurs to get the job done at home.

Washington Wizards +4.5 at Sacramento Kings -4.5

Both teams have endured rough starts, but the Wizards have won three straight since getting John Wall back in the lineup. The Wizards should certainly be able to keep it rolling against a team that allows more than 103 points per game. Take Washington to cover +4.5.

Cleveland Cavaliers +7 at Portland Trail Blazers -7

The Blazers have maintained a stellar 13-5 home record and I don’t expect the lowly Cavs to spoil it. However, Portland is not a team that wins by large margins. In fact, they have won more close games than almost any team in the league. Look for the Blazers to win, but for the Cavs to cover +7.

Miami Heat E at Golden State Warriors E

The Heat have had a rough go of it lately, losing six of their last 10, but the defending champs are still the defending champs. Still, the Warriors won their meeting with the Heat earlier this season in Miami and there’s certainly no reason they can’t do it again at home. Take the Warriors to win this against the skidding Heat.
